EnergySPY (2006) : a Multilayering Excercise
Overview
The excercise aimed to explore alternative approaches for visualising screen-based information apart from the traditional WIMP format. These alternative approaches draw on other design traditions such as poster design, maps, colloquial graphics and layered information and attempt to explore a visual structure for interfaces which break the traditional boundaries of GUI design. While breaking away from this tradition, how many layers of information can one pack into a single screen while maintaining the clarity of every layer?
